On behalf of Nu Rho Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, I would like
to welcome you to our website. It is an honor and a privilege that I represent the members of Nu Rho Omega Chapter.
Nu Rho Omega Chapter was chartered on December 13, 1980 with 17 members. Today the
chapter consist of 66 active members with diverse talents, backgrounds, and professional
careers. Since our inception, we have been committed to providing "service in our community" to all mankind.
On July 12, 2018, Dr. Glenda Glover became the 30th International President of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. She will lead the Sorority for four years, 2018 - 2022, under the theme "Exemplifying Excellence Through Sustainable Service."
Our Signature Program is #CAP -which is the abbreviation for College Admissions Process. The main focus is on motivating and assisting young people through the college entry process. The new program consists of Five Targets: HBCU for Life, Women's Healthcare and Wellness, Building Your Economic Legacy, The Arts, and Global Impact. The Sorors of Nu Rho Omega Chapter are excited about implementing and carrying out the goals of the this new program.
In addition to our mandated International Program, our Fashionetta Event and other Fund
Raisers has allowed us to award over $50,000 in scholarship to college bound young men and women and provide donations and support to other organizations in our community.
If you are looking for a service-oriented chapter, Nu Rho Omega is the chapter for you. If you
are an inactive member of AKA, general member, or a member of AKA who has recently moved to this area or a member looking to reactivate and would like to affiliate with a graduate chapter, I invite you to join Nu Rho Omega Chapter.
Again, welcome to our website and we invite you to join us at our many community events
throughout the year.
